Claudio Salocchi
Internationally renowned designer and architect, Claudio Salocchi (Milan 1934 - 2012) is known in the field of industrial design for the creation of pieces aimed at optimizing the home and work space, such as containers and tables characterized by innovative materials and techniques. In the 1960s, Salocchi established a twenty-year creative partnership with Luigi Sormani (1923 - 2017), a designer and entrepreneur who had founded his design company in 1961, specializing in Space Age furniture and high-tech materials. The collaboration gave birth to some iconic collections such as the Amina series, the Distico table, the Paione sofa, the Vivalda and Vivaldina armchairs series. Salocchi was Vice President of the ADI-Association for Industrial Design and in 1979 won the Compasso d'Oro award for Metrosistema, a kitchen equipment system for homes and communities, designed for Alberti Arredamenti Cucine.
