When you think about the Nordics, or Scandinavian countries, you immediately feel some thrills due to the very cold temperatures and the days too short (up to polar nights) or long (midnight sun!) depending on the season.
Yet the Nordic countries have revolutionized design since the 1950s with productions of exceptional quality characterized by a minimalist style, or rather clean and essential lines to the point of still being "timeless". Think of the low sideboards, rigorously made of light wood, which are very functional and often combined with white or pastel-coloured walls, flanked by large windows to allow even the weakest rays of sunshine to enter the room.
And then armchairs and sofas trimmed with pastel-coloured wools to warm the room and the guests of the house.
All this is the result of a hygge culture that is widespread in Denmark but also contagious in other Nordic countries, creating a welcoming atmosphere in which to live surrounded by family affection in search of daily happiness.
This philosophy is reflected in Denmark's education system, which is also the happiest country in the world for its ability to raise children according to a simple method that cultivates in children self-esteem and resilience starting from living together in a simple, functional and hospitable environment.
In this regard, we strongly recommend reading The Danish Way of Parenting: you will rediscover an essential and effective approach to life like the lines of Scandinavian design.
