The Vittoriano Bitossi Foundation opens a new exhibition space covering 2,150 square meters in the historical headquarters of the Bitossi company. A not-to-be-missed stop to learn about the intersection between art, design, and artisanal ceramics.
Thanks to the historical heritage of the manufacture preserved by the company, the Bitossi Industrial Archive was first established, a conspicuous collection of artifacts and documents. The first fund gathers the collection of ceramics produced from the mid-1950s to the present day; the second contains drawings, administrative files, photographs, workbooks, production catalogs, advertising, and work tools.
The museum's layout, on the other hand, presents significant chapters on the history of design through several focus exhibitions of iconic collections created by Aldo Londi, the memorable artistic director of the Bitossi factory, in collaboration with international designers. The Bitossi Museum is part of the "Rete dei Giacimenti del Design Italiano", promoted by Triennale Milano.
