Four posted beds, colored boiseries, velvet curtains, tall bookshelves, quirky wooden furniture lightened by brass lamps… vintage design offers a wide range of inspirations to recreate a fantasy corner in our home.

Ongoing in Oslo at the National Museum is the exhibition “East of The Sun and West of the Moon”: a selection of illustrations of Norwegian fairy tales by Erik Werenskiold and Theodor Kittelsen done around 150 years ago as. Collected and written down by Peter Christen Asbjørnsen and Jørgen Moe, these stories were passed down through the generations by oral tradition!

The museum’s collection includes close to 500 fairy tale drawings, which form a central element of Norway’s cultural heritage. Many are highly sensitive to light and are therefore rarely exhibited. Among princesses, scary trolls, and magical animals, the exhibition is specially designed for children and families.
