Lively wallpaper decorated with pink roses, wood sleigh bed, small writing table with oil lamp. The space underwent minor renovating works in recent years, but it is the precise room where American poet Emily Dickinson’s composed a great deal of her most famous texts.

Particularly colorful at this time of year, the poet’s house, now the Emily Dickinson Museum - also known as the Homestead - in Amherst, Massachusets, is really worth a visit.

So then why not recreate the poet’s cozy and intimate touch in your relax space, by throwing soft textiles decorated with patterns on top of beds and sofas? Dickinson’s original paisley shawl is still laying on her bed!
