Item description

This Sicilian 19th century wood and iron sconce is a beautifully crafted decorative and functional object that combines the robust qualities of wrought iron with the warmth of carved wood. It is in original condition with obvious signs of use and age, probably having been used to embellish a rural church. The back plate is a carved wooden plaque. From the back plate extend three iron arms. These arms are gracefully curved and demonstrate the skill of the blacksmith.
