Alfredo Mahieux, an artist born in 1887 who died in 1968, is famous for his tributes to classical painting, evoking timeless images through characteristic subjects and colours. ‘Strade di Ischia’ is an evocative oil on panel painting by Alfredo Mahieux. The work is part of a series of four pieces that vividly captures the streets of the largest island in the Gulf of Naples during the first half of the 20th century. His exceptional attention to detail and masterful use of colours and tones are evident in this work, making it an excellent example of his artistry.
