SILVER Seller in Torino, Italy
Pair of ceramic Moorheads. Two decorative hand-glazed ceramic vases. The Teste di Moro are traditional Sicilian vases, linked to a legend involving the beheading of an Arab lover, whose head was later used as a vase. The two heads are different and represent two Moors wearing turbans, one of which is wearing earrings. Under the base they both bear the mark and name of the Ferlaro manufactory. The Ferlaro manufactory was founded in Parma by Marchesa Maria Giulia Moncada di Paternò, the first pottery dates back to 1937. The two vases are in perfect structural condition and show no defects.
