Item description
Coppelia model vase produced by Daum France. A refined crystal vase with floral decorations in mauve and pink glass paste. Produced in the 1980s, this vase combines the innovation and history of Daum, a French glassworks that became famous during the Art Nouveau period for its glass-paste vases, which later gave way to the use of crystal. The French glassworks Daum was founded in Nancy by Jean Daum in 1878. Daum used complex techniques and brought glass paste, invented by the ancient Egyptians, back into use; these innovations made his glassworks pioneering. In the second half of the 20th century, the glassworks dedicated itself to the production of crystal, succeeding in achieving a very pure quality, which is often combined with glass paste, entrusting famous designers, such as Philippe Starck, with the creation of several collections. On the base is the engraved signature Daum France. The vase is in very good conservation condition with no damage due to time, it does however have a production defect due to a micro-bubble on the front of the work. The defect in question can be seen in the gallery photos.
