Item description

This Venini-style appliqué features a very solid brass structure. The base is a massive triangular plaque (see photo) from which four semicircular structures branch off in a stepped pattern. On the topmost semicircle, rectangular bars of brushed brass are elegantly attached at different heights. These bars are hollowed out to reduce weight. On the other three brass semicircles, numerous Murano "triedri" crystals are placed in an aesthetically perfect and refined manner. The special shape of these crystals allows the light, produced by the three hidden bulbs, to diffuse in a unique and sparkling way, creating a fabulous explosion of light and rays. The triangular plaque is also used to hang the sconce on the wall, and all the wires for the electrical connection converge at the back. A trihedron is a convex solid figure determined by three half-lines originating from a point. If the generating polygon is a triangle, you get the simplest trihedron. The combination of brass and trihedral crystals is typical of high-end design, attributable to famous designers such as Venini and Sciolari, who often used these materials. However, many Italian artisans, inspired by these styles, created similar pieces without a specific signature or trademark but with exceptionally careful and refined workmanship. The wall sconce was produced by master craftsmen in a workshop in the Veneto region (Italy), probably on the outskirts of Venice, between 2000 and 2005. It represents a Mid-Century Modern style with Art Deco influences. The use of brass and trihedral crystals is typical of these periods, characterized by a strong emphasis on combining luxury and functionality. The modern design of the wall sconce is the result of intelligent aesthetic reflection, characterized by innovative and creative designs with bold and simple lines. The wall sconce is in good condition. Measurements: width 30 cm, depth 20 cm, height 48 cm. The electrical system is new, but the wiring is European; an electrician should check voltage compatibility in other countries before use.
