Item description

Pair of splendid oil paintings on canvas depicting Venetian landscapes. One canvas represents the entrance to Canareggio and Palazzo Labia, the other the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge. These two views can be traced back to the hand of the famous painter Francesco Tironi – Venice, 1745 – Bologna 1799 (a talented landscape painter active in Italy during the second part of the Age of Enlightenment, specialized in architectural views intended to skilfully reproduce perspective illusions), in fact a particularity at the base of the Rialto Bridge, the artist monogrammed the work. Corners of the Venice lagoon animated by boats, gondolas, gondoliers and travellers. Palaces, new factories, churches. In both works, the elegant architectural structures of the buildings and the rippling motion of the waves, a portion of the sky crossed by white clouds, have been reproduced in great detail. The works are accompanied by the expertise of Dr. Emilio Negro. Dimensions (lxh) 59 x 92 cm – Original contemporary frames 78 x 111
