Item description
Royal Copenhagen Christmas Dish 2001 complete with box, booklet and certificate; it is the third in the series and is entitled ‘Winter Children’, design by Ingrid Jensen. Plate number 5603 A. Included in the box is the second saucer with the same illustration. Since 1998, Royal Copenhagen has started the production of the children's Christmas plate with illustrations depicting the joy that Christmas inspires in children. White porcelain plate with decorations in various shades of blue. Each plate was produced in limited quantities only and exclusively in the year of the first printing, which took place from 1 March, and production ended at the end of the year with the destruction of the original mould, thus making reproduction impossible. As a guarantee of authenticity, the plate bears the Royal Copenhagen hallmark with the three superimposed wavy lines, representing Denmark's three sea straits: Øresund, the Great Belt and the Little Belt, and the initials of the painter who created the plate's unique illustration. The plate measures 17 cm. in diameter and on the back has the two holes made by Royal Copenhagen itself during production for hanging.
