Large Italian painting from the second half of the 16th century. Oil work on canvas depicting a Holy Family of the Tuscan school of notable pictorial quality. We find the typical stylistic features of the Renaissance with a wonderful pyramidal composition, a refined chromatic palette and particular attention to drapery. In the center the Madonna with the baby Jesus in her arms reaching out towards the infant Saint John with a lamb at her side, symbol of Christ's sacrifice. At the top left we see Saint Joseph sleeping while holding a small still life of splendid fruits in front of him. It is an image rich in symbolism as Joseph receives God's messages during his sleep and in this way he will discover his role as father. Spectacular 20th century frame in carved and gilded wood, with some signs of aging. Work already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and color recovery in small spots. Overall in excellent state of conservation. Light painting H 121 x W 97 cm.
