Lithograph on smooth wove paper, 1950.Hand signed lower left.Excellent condition.Realized in February 1950, this work is self-explanatory: in the center we find a transparent dodecahedron merged with a glass sphere. symbol of order; all around broken or crumpled objects, representation of disorder. An enigmatic and highly stylized proof of Escher's technical skills, master of paradoxes and illusions.Ref. ‘Leven en werk van M.C. Escher’ by Bool et al., Meulenhoff Amsterdam, no. 366.
