Item description

Oil on canvas. Signed and dated lower right. The Hungarian painter Antal Berkes painted landscapes in the early years of his career, but later devoted himself to city views, of Budapest, Paris and Vienna. This painting still belongs to his early production, showing a view of a country road, where a horse-drawn carriage is parked on the dirt road through a forest with some cottages. The painting is presented in a stylish frame.
