Lucio Del Pezzo, Untitled, Collage Screenprint 1980s-1990s

The proposed print is a screenprint made on fine paper with collage inserts and a print run of 30 artist's proof copies, in excellent condition. The screenprint has the print number in the lower margin with its print run and the artist's hand signature on the front.. Only one copy is available.Print edition: artist's proof number V/30. Lucio del Pezzo collects a series of figures that are very different from each other, in shape and color, and chooses to place them with the help of the collage technique according to a very precise pattern that allows for a metaphysical effect. The artist trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and in 1958 founded Gruppo 58, an artistic movement with a 'neo-surrealist' approach. In his object-paintings, as well as in his assemblages, the playful aspect of art is always present in a continuous connection of colors and forms. Of particular importance among his many exhibitions is the De Metafisica exhibition where he exhibited alongside De Chirico, Carrà, Morandi and Sironi.Compared to other available Del Pezzo prints, the geometric figures in this case are only partially collected within two grids: one on the right side of the print and one on the left side. Each grid contains three cubes, within which there is always a different geometric figure. In the center of the print there are two other geometric shapes that, in this particular case, are slightly contextualized: the two sharp levels of the background, light blue and light brown, give us the idea that the two figures are resting on a flat surface. The figures represented are both two- and three-dimensional.
