Item description

Ceiling or wall lighting system composed of 2 Murano glass elements, model "Patchwork," designed by Toni Zuccheri for Venini. The frame is made of white painted metal, on which transparent and amber wavy glass is fixed. Each piece can be interconnected and arranged alone or in pairs to form a play of light on the same wall, as illustrated by Franco Deboni in "Vetro Venini," catalog 1921-2007, Allemandi editions, Turin 2007, on pages 250, 254, 293. Wear is consistent with its age and use. Original wiring and sockets. Size: 30 cm. width, 30 cm. length, 14 cm. depth. Since 1921, VENINI has been transforming precious silica sand into molten glass, which is then blown and worked by hand, reflecting the perfect balance between traditional techniques and contemporary art and design. Precious "Made in Murano" creations derived from centuries of skill and knowledge. TONI ZUCCHERI was born in San Vito al Tagliamento (Pordenone), but a Venetian by adoption. Toni Zuccheri (1936-2008) trained at the school of his father Luigi, an animal painter, and graduated in Architecture in Venice in 1968. Already as a student in late 1961, he arrived at Venini-to replace his father-with the goal of designing a glass bestiary, desired by Ludovico de Santillana, based on an idea by Paolo Venini. This almost casually begins a collaboration that is destined to continue over time, albeit intermittently. At Venini, Zuccheri is passionate about researching and experimenting with glassy material, over time gaining considerable familiarity with both hot and cold working techniques.
