Item description
Please read the entire description carefully, as we are committed to providing detailed technical and historical information to ensure the authenticity of our items. This elegant and sophisticated envelope and ticket holder is designed in the Space Age style. It is crafted by hot-molding an iron plate and shaping it into pleasing, practical, tapering angles. To complete its unique aesthetic, the object has been finished with a vibrant red, heat-cured paint. This piece was produced between 1970 and 1974 in a well-equipped and innovative workshop in the province of Milan, Italy. The artisans of that era, eager to push beyond the boundaries of traditional materials, rediscovered iron—a once-forgotten, humble material with limitless possibilities for craftsmanship. Due to its extraordinary versatility, iron enabled them to create elegant, extravagant, and modern products, rewriting the rules of contemporary design in the 1970s. From their inventive minds and skilled hands emerged a variety of objects, including lamps, chairs, tables, coffee tables, umbrella stands, and more. The design of the envelope holder is inspired by the "Space Age" style, a design trend that emerged at the dawn of the space era, commonly traced back to the launch of Sputnik in October 1957, and continued into the 1970s. This style is characterized by simple, sharp, spherical, undulating, and flowing forms. The design of this period embraced a wide range of styles and movements, favoring roundness, freedom of form and movement, lightness, and simplicity. Objects from this era often feature clean, geometric volumes that definitively break from the rationalist tradition. Our envelope holder (which can also be used as a ticket holder, card holder, or for other purposes) will express its bold aesthetic most effectively when placed on a desk, with its eccentric shape and vibrant color standing out. The item is in good condition. Measurements: length 17 cm, depth 8 cm, height 14 cm. For all our shipments, we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) to ensure maximum protection and safety of the items.
