Item description
Splendid Italian painting from the first half of the 18th century. Oil work on canvas depicting a Madonna with Child and Saints in adoration of notable pictorial quality. Painting from the Neapolitan school attributable to the painter Francesco Solimena (1657-1747), lacking authenticity. He was one of the great figures of the late Baroque and Rococo in Italy and contributed to making Naples a European capital of painting. Above, immersed in the clouds, we find a wonderful Madonna with child surrounded by celebrating angels. Below we find four saints in adoration, on the left Saint Thomas and Saint Francis, on the right Saint Luigi Gonzaga and Saint Anthony of Padua. To underline the chromatic brilliance and the executive quality in every single detail, from the drapery of the robes to the sweet expressions of the cherubs. 19th century frame in carved and gilded wood, beautifully decorated, with some signs of aging. Work already restored with relining and color recovery in small spots, overall in excellent state of conservation. Painting light H 61 x W 49 cm.
