Louis XVI living room set in walnut and Vienna straw, 18th century

We are thrilled to present to you this rare 18th century lounge set, comprising an elegant long sofa (approximately three-seater) and two accompanying chairs. Sourced from Italy, this fine set was crafted by master cabinetmakers during the Louis XVI period, testifying to the exceptional craftsmanship of that era. The structure is in solid walnut, a precious material that gives strength and beauty to the piece, while the seats and backrests are made of fine Vienna straw, meticulously hand-woven according to traditional techniques. The design of the set stands out for its simple but rigorous lines, which reflect the sober and refined elegance typical of this historical period. Delicate floral carvings decorate the wooden frame, adding an artistic touch and enhancing the overall aesthetic. To ensure optimal comfort, the seats are equipped with custom-made cushions, upholstered in a rich red velvet that offers not only support, but also a touch of luxury and style. It is important to note that, being a period piece, the set has some signs of aging, such as small defects in the Vienna straw and some stains on the velvet cushions. However, these imperfections do not compromise the stability or charm of the set, which retains its historical beauty intact. The seat height is 45 cm. Price negotiable.
