Gott, Vestal, large patinated stucco sculpture, 20th century

Rare Italian statue in patinated stucco from the first half of the 20th century. The work depicts a vestal virgin with an amphora, probably Hebe, goddess of youth and handmaid of the divinities who served nectar and ambrosia. In relief on the amphora we find Ganymede and the eagle, a beautiful boy who Jupiter kidnapped, turning into an eagle and who became the cupbearer of the gods. Some restorations are evident in the neck and left forearm, which has cracks and missing parts (see photo). It has a GOTT signature engraved on the right calf. Statue of great impact and difficult to find, overall in good condition and beautiful patina.
