Item description

CONDITIONS: very good with small and inevitable signs of time and use, 2 chairs have imperfections on the backrests as shown in the photos. Leonardo Fiori, architect, engineer, professor of Composition at the Faculty of Architecture of the Polytechnic of Milan, founder and director for 20 years of the magazine Costruire (as well as other previous publications), founder of Inu Lombardia (of which he was honorary president) and of Adi, Association for Industrial Design. A direct witness of the cultural ferments that characterized twentieth-century architecture (he was in contact with Le Corbusier in his Parisian studio, he was a protagonist of the season of Adriano Olivetti's patronage), Leonardo Fiori was able to interpret - and tell - the evolution of the discipline, sensing well in advance the need for integration of all aspects competing with building production, as well as that of placing environmental protection at the basis of design. The I.S.A. (Industria Salotti e Arredamenti) factory, also known as ISA, ISA Bergamo and ISA Italia, was founded in the late 1940s near Bergamo in Ponte San Pietro. It produced a series of evocative models designed by Gio Ponti and Ico and Luisa Parisi. It created furniture and seating models for Veronesi, Fiori and Morelli. In the 1960s it had a department that produced furniture for the US market. During this period it acquired the license to produce the famous Sheriff Chair by Brazilian architect Sergio Rodrigues.
