Condition: good with some inevitable signs of time and use - see photos Achille Castiglioni (Milan, February 16, 1918 - Milan, December 2, 2002) was an Italian architect and designer. Son of the sculptor Giannino and Livia Bolla, he graduated from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1944; after graduation he worked in the studio of his older brothers Livio (1911-1979) and Pier Giacomo (1913-1968) in Corso di Porta Nuova, 52 in Milan, later, with Pier Giacomo alone, in Piazza Castello, 27 in Milan, dedicating himself to projects of urban planning, architecture, exhibitions, displays and product design. In 1944 he participated, together with his brothers, in the VII Triennale of Milan. Achille Castiglioni's design has always been marked by a search for functionality, also through the functional reuse of objects already present in production. In 1956 he was among the founders of ADI, the Association for Industrial Design. FLOS S.p.A. (from the Latin flower) is an Italian company founded in Merano (Italy) in 1962 and specialized in lighting systems.
