According to iconographic tradition, the guardian angel is presented as a tall young man who accompanies a child and points him to the sky, the goal of human life: in this painting the angel is helping the little child to climb onto his cloud, holding him with one arm, precisely to underline his role as companion, support and guide in earthly life towards the celestial one. The painting, in the first canvas, presents slight losses of color. It is presented in a contemporary frame.
