Barovier rostrated vase, 30s

Barovier rostrated glass vase. Elegant rostrated Murano glass vase patented by the Barovier glassworks. Glass rostrating is a particular technique in which the glass is pulled hot with pliers to form points. This technique was invented and patented by Ercole Barovier who took over the family business in the 1920s and remained there until his death in 1972. The Barovier glassworks, now called Barovier & Toso, was founded in the 13th century and is therefore the sixth oldest family business in the world still in business. The vase is in excellent conservative condition, with no breaks or defects. The vase tips are all intact, no chips.
