Taxidermy puffer fish in a wooden case, late 19th century
SILVER Seller in Firenze, Italy
A very large specimen of Diodon Histrix, also known as porcupine fish or puffer fish. Its main feature is the extremely elastic skin covered with spines, which in case of danger can swell like a ball, making the spines particularly dangerous for the predator. In addition to being unusually large, this specimen has a beautiful color that varies from beige to brown with dark brown spots. In an original wooden notice board with vintage glass. Measurements of the fish: 40 cm. Showcase: 56cm x 40cm.
