Item description
Table or desk lamp model 573 designed by Gino Sarfatti and produced by Arteluce, Italy 1956. This beautiful Directional table lamp has a cast iron base, covered with the trademark grey cracked paint. The central stems are made of chrome-plated brass and can be adjusted to different positions and angles. The adjustment mechanism, also used in other models, consists of a solid aluminium ball placed in the centre. The typical Sarfatti shade has been used in several versions of its lamps and is a combination of anodised aluminium and a green methacrylate diffuser ring, which gives a beautiful light effect when lit. In this lamp, Sarfatti has created a balance between direct and decorative light. The green diffuser ring prevents the lamp from being directly fixed and gives the impression that it is illuminated, when in fact it is only the bulb that is reflected in the ring. The cable that is at the end of the arm and plugs into the central stem has a decorative as well as a functional value. This lamp is perfect, for example, as a table lamp due to its multiple dimming functions. The lamp uses an E27 bulb up to 100 watts, can also use an LED bulb and is dimmable. The lamp is in original condition with some age-related wear as can be seen in the pictures.
