It shows traces of ancient restoration, clearly visible, in the photos, through the presence of yellow-colored interventions. The carpet described is an antique seat rug from the Ningxia (Ninghsia) region, an area historically renowned for producing high-quality carpets in Kansu Province (present-day Gansu), located in western China. Ningxia reached its peak as a center of carpet weaving between the 18th and 19th centuries, when local artisans developed a distinctive style characterized by fine patterns, natural colors and advanced knotting techniques.
