Antique 18th-century Chinese seat rug, with dimensions of cm. 70 x cm. 57. Hand-knotted in wool, beige background color with stylized corners in blue, which characterizes Chinese rugs. It shows traces of ancient restoration, clearly visible, in the photos, through the presence of yellow-colored interventions. The carpet described is an antique seat rug from the Ningxia (Ninghsia) region, an area historically renowned for producing high-quality carpets in Kansu Province (present-day Gansu), located in western China. Ningxia reached its peak as a center of carpet weaving between the 18th and 19th centuries, when local artisans developed a distinctive style characterized by fine patterns, natural colors and advanced knotting techniques.
