Piedmontese Empire coin cabinet in mahogany, 19th century




Two -bodies furniture completely veneered in mahogany feather; It presents both in the tightest top, and in the lower one, two doors surmounted by a drawer and framed by a pair of octagonal measures. The uprights are enriched with carvings with pointed arches of Gothic taste, as in the same style the top is carved with a pierced tripod and two pine cones carved in Pigna. The lower drawer contains a tiretto covered in leather that acts as a desk; The opening of the two drawers allows, thanks to an unlocking mechanism, the opening of the doors. The lower ones conceal the shelves, while in the doors of the upper they are hidden twenty -two tires in maple with the accommodation for the coins, some still bring the piece of velvet on which to place them; Tiretti have a mahogany front with two pomoli each in the shape of a protome leonin in silver.
