Item description

Great Italian painting of the first half of the 19th century. Work oil on canvas, in the first canvas, depicting religious subject, San Giovanni Battista of excellent pictorial hand. Picture that, as a setting, takes inspiration from a famous San Giovanni Battista by Guido Reni, where the saint is represented with more youthful traits and in a mirror position. Painting that develops vertically, of exceptional measure, for antique dealers and collectors, ideal to be included in a salon or study. In beautiful patina, the canvas has undergone a conservative restoration intervention (with a patch on the back) in the lower right part (see photo). Painting that has some sign of the time, overall in good conservative state.
