Satir with grapes, marble sculpture, 18th century

Great Italian statue in white marble from the first half of the eighteenth century. Work depicting a wonderful child satirus, of extraordinary quality. Being mythological that inhabits the woods and mountains is the personification of fertility and the life force of nature. Comrade of Pan and Dionysus, and called Fauno among the Romans, is also represented on this occasion with the ears and pointed and the caprine legs. Lying softly on the rocks, abandon itself to the garbage between vine branches. It operates in beautiful patina, with some signs of time. Overall in good conservative state.
