George Smith: owner of a large ebanisterial laboratory in London and active between 1804 and 1828, famous for having released an engravings album entitled "A Collection of Designs for Household Furniture" in 1808, some scholars advance the hypothesis that the Neapolitan "Smith" furniture were inspired by George Smith's designs.
