Ragno table with 4 Scapolare chairs by Giovanni Michelucci, 1980s

Very rare set of table and chairs signed Michelucci. Wooden furniture designed by architect Giovanni Michelucci (1891-1990) were born from the purpose of establishing a solid balance between lines and volume so that the artifact, which involved the constant presence of a skilled carpenter, would become an object "for everyone," capable of expressing principles of modernity but also maintaining a close link with tradition. Of subtle elegance is the Scapolare chair, designed by Michelucci in 1943, characterized by comfortable, anatomically shaped backrests, which interprets with functional rigor the elegant contrast between solids and voids reminiscent of supple neoclassical models. The table mod. Ragno, consists of a usual base of fine solid walnut and tempered glass top. Very good estate condition. All furnishings are signed.
