Decorative panel with Pulcinella, 1940s
SILVER Seller in Milano, Italy
Pulcinella, Neapolitan mask of the commedia dell'arte. The panel is composed of several ceramic tiles, like a puzzle, and on the back the assembly is reinforced by a wooden panel. The manufacture is probably that of San Polo in Venice, 1950s/60s. In the lower part - see photo - there is a crack, not structural, that does not change the beauty of the object.
