Two-tier coffee table in brass and smoked glass, 70s

A two-tier brass and smoked glass coffee table is believed to have originated in 1970s Italy. This early example of Hollywood Regency design features two panes of tempered smoked glass, housed in a brass frame. The corners and joints of the frame itself are reinforced in a gold acrylic casing, making it child-friendly. The two layers of glass make this piece extremely practical - the lower layer can hold magazines or coffee-table books, while the upper layer can be adorned with ornaments or sculptures. Wear consistent with age and use. Some patina and discolouration to the brass, but this does not detract from the overall good condition of the piece.
