An elegant and refined pair of Austrian cockpit armchairs. The massive and solid frame is made of walnut root, the seats are firmly fixed to the circular base of the wooden frame, the back of the armchairs is completely occupied by the curved backrest. The main characteristic of the cockpit shape in armchairs or chairs of this type is the impression that the seat itself wants to surround or embrace us, a pleasant feeling of comfort. These types of armchairs have a compact design, not at all bulky, and offer impeccable comfort. They were made in a Vienna workshop between 1930 and 1935 from walnut root. Walnut also has an aesthetic value, as it is very elegant and refined due to its many different natural grains. The armchairs in the wooden part have been treated with ancient manual restoration techniques, the original fabric was very deteriorated, so they were reupholstered in Italy by a skilled Florentine master craftsman who used a fine black velvet with high resistance to wear, reviving with skill and expertise two objects full of style and personality that are now in excellent condition. Seat height: 46cm.
