Item description
Pretty and refined wall sconce in the shape of half a balloon, the structure is a semicircle of gilded brass on the back of which is fixed a metal panel that allows the single point of light to reflect outward. The brass part is enriched by a sophisticated decoration in the form of a soft garland. On the semicircle, faceted crystal rosettes interspersed with massive cut and ground rectangular crystals have been manually fixed with metal wires, forming a cascade of shining beauty. The shape of the sconce is the classic type of balloon chandeliers of the Louis XVI period, but in this case, it was made only half of it in order to apply it to the wall. Was handcrafted between 1950 and 1953 by an unknown craftsman in the suburbs of Paris. The applique has a single point of light, but when it is turned on, the ground crystals refract the light with infinite facets and create enchanting reflections that enhance their decorative effect, its extreme classicism and its romantic line, make it extremely versatile and easily placed in any environment. The electrical system has only the attack for the bulb, for the rest must be made new.
