Gastone Bai was born in Sarteano, province of Siena in 1942 where he lives. After a long teaching career in the artistic field, he has dedicated himself exclusively to the creation of his works since the early 1980s. For almost 30 years, he devoted himself to the creation of sculptures, ceramics and stoneware, becoming one of Italy's leading exponents, with wide public and critical acclaim bestowed upon him unceasingly over time. Since the second half of the 1980s, he has started to flank his sculptures with a long production of paintings, always keeping the call to expressive matter alive, so that his paintings are often both paintings and sculptures.
He works between his studio and workshop in Sarteano.
