Item description
Centerpiece in colored Murano glass; the shape, rich in soft curves and rounded tips, fascinates with its incomparable and elegant plasticity and lightness; was made with the technique of "submerged" glass, a procedure used by the Murano furnaces in the production of artistic glass which consists in combining, hot, different shades of color by immersing the mouth-blown glass with a special barrel by a master glassmaker in crucibles containing different colors; for the centerpiece cobalt oxide was used for the blue color and copper oxide for the green color; at this point the master was able to make the massive block of glass delicate, almost vaporous, by twisting it, working it with pliers and shaping it by hand to give it the desired shape; so the object was made entirely by hand. The item is in excellent condition.
