Fabulous wood and fabric sofa attributed to the great designer Paolo Buffa, of fine Italian manufacture, produced in the 1950s.
The sofa is totally in original condition.
The structure of the sofa is entirely made of light-coloured precious hardwood. Supporting the structure are 4 solid, beautifully worked cylindrical feet. The base of the wooden frame at the front is embellished with a relaxing and attractive wave-weave fretwork. This shows the skill in bending the wood.
At the side, the sofa is bevelled and rises in the same way up to the armrests. The armrests also have a soft shape, centrally they are worked: the wood has been hollowed out and worked with a wave weave and small decorative wooden tubular elements, which give elegance and extravagance together.
The sofa has 3 seat cushions and 3 back cushions, made of light blue serpentine spotted weave fabric, which is magnificent.
If the back cushions are removed, the sofa becomes a comfortable, enveloping sofa bed.
The sofa attributed to Paolo Buffa is ideal in eccentric and collector's houses.
