Item description

Antique iron security ministerial filing cabinet. The filing cabinet comes from the treasury office of the old I.C.A. - Mantova Forniture Enti Pubblici. In the Municipality of Mantua, the service of compulsory collection of municipal revenue and the service of assessment and collection of the single property fee, for more than 60 years, has been managed by: I.C.A. The treasury filing cabinet still presents the official ferry of public agencies' supplies, the sturdiness the solidity of this cabinet made it perfectly suitable for what were valuable documents and taxes. The shelves are adjustable in height and horizontally divisible by means of tab-inset bulkheads. The doors, also made of solid iron, had no glass windows but metal grilles, such that the contents were visible but in total security. The considerable weight made it not easily removable. The cabinet has been completely restored, the painted parts treated for oxidation and rust, then powder coated in an anthracite gray color. The treated doors present a textured corten effect. The lock although original does not have a key and the cabinet is therefore fitted with a rubberized chain with padlock to be affixed between the two soft iron handles. Also in soft iron is the decoration on the base. A discreet 0.8-cm hole was exploited in the bottom of the cabinet to thread a 240-volt power post, which also makes the cabinet suitable for holding multiple electronic parts without seeing wires coming out. Its exceptional rarity and small size make it a unique and striking piece of furniture even with the most classic furnishings, as well as a "must-have" in industrial style. Dimensions: 161 cm - W. 85 cm - D. 41.5 cm.
