T906 wooden coffee table by Gastone Rinaldi for Rima 60s. Gastone Rinaldi was born in Padua in 1920. He initially worked for the company Rima, founded by his father Mario Rinaldi in 1916. In his work as a designer he came into contact with many of Italy's leading designers, including Giò Ponti, Carlo Mollino, Alberto Rosselli, Franco Campo and Carlo Graffi, Michele De Lucchi, and Marco Zanuso. In 1954 he won the Compasso d'Oro with the DU30 chair produced by Rima. In 1974 he founded the company Thema. In 1981 his Dafne chair produced in 1979 received a mention at the Compasso d'Oro, as did the Aurora chair in 1981. The Saturno sofa is part of the prestigious collection of the MoMA Museum of Modern Art in New York. Gastone Rinaldi died in Padua in 2006.
