Item description
Eccentric up-and-down lamp of 1950s vintage design. The pendant is also called saliscendi because of its counterweight mechanism that allows the lamp to rise and fall at will. The chandelier comes from Italian administrative offices. The lamp is supported by a canvas cable that acts mainly as a regulator thanks to the aluminium and brass counterweight. Its diffuser is made of painted conical aluminium, while the ceiling cover is made of worked glass. Note its brass elements, especially the ring in the centre of the ceiling light. It is certainly not just a decorative element, but as its first function it has the use of a socket for adjusting the suspension. The rope is slightly worn due to its use. The lamp is in good condition and in working order.
