Item description
Timeless lithograph by A. Warhol here depicting Marilyn Monroe on a refined pastel pearl grey background, published by C.M.O.A, numbered 265/2400. It was following the untimely death of the actress in 1962 that Andy Warhol decided to turn the woman's face into a mass icon. This lithograph series with CMOA stamp was produced in 1983 and reproduces the first series of 91x91 cm lithographs made in 1967. The CMOA stamp is a guarantee for A. Warhol's multiples. CMOA stands for Carnegie Museum Of Art, a museum in Pittsburgh, A. Warhol's hometown, to which the artist donated 60 of his subjects, granting the possibility of producing multiples of each subject in a limited edition (2400 pieces). For this reason, the availability of such lithographs is beginning to be difficult, as these numbered subjects are in demand all over the world. The image measures 60 x 60 cm and 63 x 63 cm framed.
