Oil painting on canvas depicting the sacrifice of Isaac, 17th century. According to the book of Genesis, God, in order to test Abraham's faith, orders him to sacrifice his own son Isaac; an angel of the Lord descends to stop him and shows him a ram to immolate as a substitute sacrifice. The painting has undergone conservation restoration, color restoration in some spots, has been partially restretched and some support patches have been placed on the back of the canvas. Fitted with an antique wooden frame, not contemporary, re-gilded during the 20th century. Measurements without frame: 118 x 145 cm.
