Old Italian painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil on canvas painting depicting the biblical subject The Repudiation of Vasti by Paolo Veronese. A painting of particular perspective designed for the attic of the sacristy of the church of San Sebastiano in Venice. A painting that shows the viewer the moment of the queen's banishment, forced to descend the steps of a secondary staircase, accompanied hand in hand by two figures: a boy symbolising ignorance and a grotesque face representing pride. Work that has undergone conservative restoration, re-staining, replacement of the frame and repainting in some places (see photo). Non-coeval carved and gilded wooden frame (bronze tinting) with several signs of restoration and minor colour fading. Oval painting on canvas and rectangular frame (see photo) for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors. In good state of preservation with some signs of time.
