Item description

Napoleon III roll top desk made in France in the late 19th century. Rosewood and mahogany veneered wood structure, gilt and chiseled bronze and brass details, marble top (original) recessed with gilt brass ferrule. Cabinet fitted with keyed outer drawer (working lock), roller concealing removable leather-covered writing tabletop, four small drawers and four document compartments. Roller lock missing key. It has several small veneer lacks and signs of old restoration work. Overall in fair state of preservation; in need of restoration.
