Pair of PH5 lamps by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen, 1960s

Sold

Pair of white PH5 lamps designed by Poul Henningsen for lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen. PH5 is one of the best-known Danish pendant lamps, first introduced in 1958 and has since become an iconic piece of mid-century modern design. The design intent of PH5 was to provide glare-free lighting, thanks to the lampshade with several concentric shades that work together to diffuse the light and prevent any glare. The lamp is also equipped with a curved trumpet-shaped reflector that directs the light downwards, creating a soft and warm light. The set presented is white and features blue plates and purple construction details. Overall, in fantastic original vintage condition with no significant scratches or dings. Some of the discs may be 'extinguished' but this does not spoil the aesthetics of the lamps and is a common feature as aluminum is a soft material. It is not visible when the lamps are hung, as in the photos. Manufacturer's label preserved. Original wiring with 128 cm long cable, extendable or shorten on request.
