Modular coffee table consisting of four square travertine elements, designed by Claude Berraldacci for La Pierre Haute Couture in the 1990s. The travertine used comes from the Tivoli quarry near Rome, from which the stone used for the Vatican buildings, the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain was also extracted. Travertine from this area is very pure, characterized by a very light color and few veins. The stone was worked with great skill, resulting in a "softened travertine" with a natural, opaque appearance, almost soft to the touch.
