Inlaid sideboard attributed to Paolo Buffa for La Permanente Mobili Cantù, 1950s

A high-quality mahogany sideboard with intricate carving on the front and sides. The front features five doors worked in a diamond pattern, framed by floral inlays. The base is supported by classic, slender, tapered legs, finely inlaid, and finished with substantial brass sabots. The top showcases a stunning diagonal mahogany pattern, separated by a fine string inlay, leading to the cross-grain mahogany that finishes with a double-level border. At the back, a small raised section adds to the overall elegance of the piece. This sideboard is in its original condition. The craftsmanship is excellent, with some wear on the finish of the top and a missing inlay at the edge. The piece is attributed to the designer/manufacturer mentioned above. While it does not bear an attribution mark or proof of authenticity, it is well-documented in design history.
